Columbia University is the University, which is fond of making records in different fields. The phrase “Columbia University in the City of New York is considered to be the first one in” has become the talk of the town.

In this article, I would like to enumerate the achievements, awards, and distinctive features of the Columbia of University. Of course, the format of the article does not allow me to mention all of them, though I would like to dwell upon the main ones:

•    Columbian University is considered to be the place of birth of such science as genetics.
•    Columbian University was supporting the first site where the atom of Uranium was spited.

Columbia University is one of the prominent private universities in the United States of America and is an honorary member of the Ivy League. The main campus of the Columbia University is located in the Morningside Heights in New York; its official name is Columbia University in the City of New York. Church of England established this very institution as King’s College and it received a royal charter in 1754 from George II of Great Britain.

It was the firs college in New York and the fifth college within Thirteen Colonies. Columbia University is considered to be a native home of Pulitzer Prize, a famous award given to those who have made some achievements and contributions into the development of journalism, literature, and music. Joseph Pulitzer was a founder of Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Columbia University has won 87 Nobel Prizes; it is the record figure among the all world universities. Columbia University is also considered to be the place of birth of FM radio; Columbian University is said to be the first one to offer anthropology, historic preservation, political science to study as academic disciplines.  It was also the first educational establishment to grant the Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D.).
